Arraignment set for man charged in Moberly murder

A Moberly man charged in another man’s death waived his preliminary hearing this week.

Joseph Kertz is charged with first degree murder in the October shooting death of Kevin McCuiston.

According to court documents, Kertz and a woman, Brittney Bowen, were planning to rob McCuiston.

Bowen allegedly lured McCuiston to a home on Calhoun Street by offering sex in exchange for money. McCuiston was found dead with a gunshot wound in the home.

Kertz is scheduled to be arraigned in Randolph County court January 5th.

Another man, Ethan Longbine, is charged with second degree murder in the case. His preliminary hearing is set for Jaunary 19th.
