Power outages affect 1,400 Boone Electric customers

UPDATE, 6:47 p.m.: According to the Boone Electric Cooperative outage map, outages have risen back up to about 128 county-wide.

UPDATE: 6:20 p.m.: There are now less than 55 Boone Electric Cooperative customers affected by the power outage.

UPDATE 5:10 p.m.: Boone Electric says it is aware of the situation and is working to get the power back on. It says hardware went bad, but crews are ready to replace that part.

It’s still unknown how long it will take to restore power.

ORIGINAL: More than 1,400 Boone Electric Cooperative customers were without power Monday.

At 4:45 p.m. the outage map showed 12 different outages affecting 1,468 customers.

ABC 17 News is working to find out what caused the outages and when power is expected to be restored.
