COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Boone County Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against a man after a deadly November 2020 shooting in Columbia.

Prosecutors charged Isaiah C. Brunson, 19, with second-degree murder and delivery of a controlled substance on Wednesday in the death of 19-year-old Jermaine Spain. Police said Spain was shot and killed at Cosmo Park on the night of Nov. 2, 2020.

According to court documents, Brunson went to the park to help sell marijuana to a group of people. Police said Brunson told officers the other group of people started shooting during the drug deal.

Spain was shot and killed at the park. Police said marijuana was found on Brunson after he drove himself to a hospital for treatment of his gunshot wound.

The Boone County Prosecutor's Office has asked a judge to set Brunson's bond at $25,000.

No other arrests have been made in the shooting.
