Police arrest a man after he allegedly threatens a woman with a machete and taser

On Sunday evening, Columbia police arrested Edward Rosson after he allegedly threatened a woman with a machete and taser.

Police responded to the 100 block of Eighth Street on Sunday evening for a domestic assault call.

Once they arrived on scene, a woman told police that her and Rosson were in an intimate relationship, and while she was sleeping Rosson woke her up threatening her with the two weapons.

He then proceeded to chase her around the residence with the weapons, sparking the taser multiple times in the victim’s direction.

The victim also claimed Rosson punched her once in the face as well as threatening to kill her.

The victim eventually crawled out of a window in order to escape Rosson.

Public court documents show Rosson has been charged over thirty times for criminal acts including assault and stealing.

Rosson is currently in jail with close to a $100,000 bond.
