Light Snow on Wednesday Followed by Arctic Air Thursday and Friday

A storm system developing near the Gulf of Alaska on this Monday morning will track southeastward over the next 48-72 hours, bringing with it, a chance for light snow on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Snow showers look to be possible anytime after 1PM on Wednesday. It will be cold enough aloft for snow to develop, while at the surface at this time, temperatures will be in the mid 30s. Accumulation is not expected until Wednesday evening. Perhaps on elevated surfaces during the day minor accumulation will be possible. From 6PM-10PM Wednesday night looks to be the better shot at seeing accumulation. Areas west of US 63 look to have the better chance where a few bands could develop. Most areas look to get less than 1″ of snow.

Arctic temperatures in the teens will follow on Wednesday night. Winds will be from the northwest on Thursday and Friday bringing a wind chill of 4 to 8 degrees in the morning, only reaching 10 to 12 during the day, and Friday a wind chill of 0 to 5 in the morning, reaching the low 20-23 in the afternoon.
