Saturday Evening, December 3

TONIGHT: The chance for rain kicks up this evening starting in southwest Missouri and moving in a northeasterly direction overnight. Winds will be light around 5-7 mph out of the southeast. Temperatures will slide down to the upper 30s by tonight. Since temperatures will be in the upper 30s we don’t expect to see any snow through the evening hours.

SUNDAY: The chance for rain will linger during the early morning hours on Sunday, clearing by late morning. It’s possible that some snow could mix in with the rain by Sunday morning, especially north of I-70 but surface temperatures will be above freezing. Snow could temporarily stick in grassy surfaces early Sunday morning. The high temperature will remain above freezing in mid 40s under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will remain gentle under 5 mph out of the south.

EXTENDED: Rain moves back in Monday evening with the best chance along and south of HWY 54 after 7PM, moving out early Tuesday morning. Rainfall amounts of .25″ to .75″ are expected. We are watching the coldest air yet this season which will move in next Wednesday. There is a slight chance of snow Wednesday with high temperatures only in the mid to upper 30s. Temperatures will drop into the upper teens Wednesday night and only climb into the 20s next Thursday as the very cold air settles in. We’ll have more details on the cold blast and precipitation chances as new data comes in. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
