Pulaski woman stabs children, kills herself

A woman stabbed herself to death after stabbing two children, who were hospitalized in serious condition, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department said.

Deputies were called to a home in 25300 block of Highway W Sunday afternoon for reports of multiple people being stabbed.

Deputies arrived at the address and found a woman in the front yard of the home with dozens of stab wounds. She died moments later. She has since been identified as Yvonne Holmes, 37, of Pulaski County.

Two children, ages 2 and 12, were found inside the home with multiple stab wounds. They were taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Witnesses told authorities Holmes became delusional and began stabbing the children with a butcher knife. She then reportedly went outside and continued stabbing herself

A 38-year-old man was also injured in the attack trying to protect the children. He was treated for his injuries at the scene.
