Rain chance for the start of your work week

This weekend has been a mild and dry weekend so far, but that is going to change as we move into Sunday. Sunday temperatures will continue to be mild, but there is chance of rain that will work its way into mid-Missouri ahead of a cold front. There is a slight chance of rain that begins at 12 PM on Sunday. The chance increases to 50% at 3 PM. At 3 PM, areas North of I-70 are most likely to see this rain.

From 12 AM until the early morning hours on Monday, we will likely see a slight break in the rain. During this time rain chances dial back to a 30% chance, since some spotty showers are still possible. Into the later morning hours, the cold front will be passing through mid-Missouri, which increases the chance of showers to 50%. These Monday morning showers will likely be isolated to the Southeastern portions of Missouri.

By the evening hours on Monday, the cold front will have completely passed through mid-Missouri leaving for cool, dry conditions with clear skies for the remainder of the week.

Temperatures will plummet for the middle of the week as cold air pumps in from the North. Tuesday we will drop to 53 degrees, but that is still above average. We can expect temperatures to be slightly cooler than average by Wednesday at 45 degrees.

The ABC 17 Stromtrack Weather team will be tracking it all and keeping you up to date on any changes as the system approaches.
