Police have been shot in Dallas, Baton Rouge, Des Moines, and even Missouri this year.

In the wake of these shootings, ABC 17 News will show you how law enforcement officers are taught to make split-second, life-altering decisions every day.

“No officer shows up to work and says today I want to use my handgun,” says Captain Doug Shoemaker with the Jefferson City Police Department. “It does not happen.”

“Officer Under Pressure” airs Wednesday on ABC 17 News at 10 on KMIZ.
