2nd annual Transgender Day of Remembrance to be held at Missouri State Capitol

The Mid-Missouri Transgender Support Group is holding its second annual “Transgender Day of Remembrance” today, November 19.

A rally and candlelight vigil will take place on the south law of the Missouri State Capitol, beginning at 4 p.m.

The event will feature speakers from St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia, Jefferson City and Springfield. It’s aimed at highlighting the violence that continues the transgender community.

According to the Mid-Missouri Transgender Support Group, 2016 has been another record breaking year for the murder of transgender people across the United States.
