One arrested, others at large after chase involving two stolen vehicles

UPDATE 11/14: The Boone County Sheriffs Department tells our crews that authorities were alerted of one car being stolen out of Kansas City.

Deputies along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol located the vehicle near St. Charles Road.

When they were attempting to stop the one vehicle, they noticed there were actually two vehicles who were fleeing from authorities.

One vehicle headed east bound and stopped on Player Place Street where the occupants jumped out and ran.

A K9 track was attempted to search for the suspects but they were unable to find them.

Authorities on scene tell our crews at least one of the outstanding suspects was armed.

The other vehicle headed westbound on St. Charles Road. That vehicle eventually lost control and stopped on the eastbound lane of Clark Lane. Two occupants fled from the vehicle.

Authorities were able to catch one of the suspects, Jarrell D. Brown.

Brown was arrested for tampering in the first degree, resisting arrest, careless and imprudent driving involving a crash, and operating a motor vehicle without a valid drivers license.

The Columbia Police Department and the Boone County Sheriff’s Department are looking for two men who were evading authorities Sunday evening.

ORIGINAL STORY: The agencies were searching for the men in the area of Player Place, which is just off of East St. Charles Road in Columbia.

Authorities said at least one man was armed with a pistol.

A K-9 was brought to try to track the men down, but it was not successful. Authorities cleared the scene just after 7 p.m.
