Police investigate double homicide on Grant Street in Jefferson City

UPDATE 11/10: Jefferson City Police confirm they’ll have officers patrolling the areas of Grant Street and Adams Street Thursday in an effort to try and find suspect Brandon Rapier. Police say Rapier is a suspect in a deadly assault investigation.

ORIGINAL: Jefferson City Police were investigating a double homicide Wednesday night.

Police said they responded to the 100 block of Grant Street at 7:30 p.m. for an assault. When they arrived, they found two people with serious injuries who later died.

Police said the suspect, Brandon Rapier, is still at large. He is a white man, about 5’8″ tall and 140 pounds. He is known to frequent the 1200 block of Adams Street.

A helicopter and canines were searching the area late Wednesday night. If you see Rapier, do not approach him. Call police.

ABC 17 News reported on Rapier in 2014 when he was charged after allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend, and damaging his car.
