Tuesday Morning November 8

TODAY: Light showers will be ongoing early in the morning, ending by 9AM-11AM near I-70, including Columbia, and north. Light rain looks likely to continue for areas south of I-70, ending by 3 pm near I-44. A low cloud deck will clear this afternoon for areas north of I-70 and by evening for areas near the Ozarks and I-44. A south wind early this morning, shifts mid morning becoming more north/northwesterly at 3-8 mph. High temperatures will reach the lower 60s.

TONIGHT: As skies clear tonight and cooler air moves in, temperatures will be dropping to the upper 30s. This may come as a surprise given the unseasonably warm autumn we’ve had. Frost will be possible for areas north of I-70 while areas south may stay in the low 40s with northerly winds under 5 mph.

EXTENDED: Although skies will be sunny Wednesday, high temperatures will stay cool, in the upper 50s, dropping into the mid to upper 30s Wednesday night. Patchy frost is possible again on Wednesday night. We will warm a few degrees Thursday under sunny skies but another cold front moves through Friday, dropping temperatures into the 50s during the day for Friday and Saturday. The coldest night this week looks to be Friday night. Frost will be likely as temperatures dip into the low to mid 30s. Areas east of HWY 63 and could drop to the freezing mark Friday night. The upcoming weekend looks dry with chilly nights and cool days. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
