Columbia Make-A-Wish recipient’s football jersey is stolen

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Keegan Hartman, a University of Missouri Student, and 2018 Make-A-Wish recipient is trying to find the person who stole his custom official Mizzou Football Jersey along with other items.

Hartman said two weeks ago an unknown suspect broke into his townhouse in the 300 block of Brookside Lane. He said he and his roommate believes the suspect or suspects snuck in through the back door and began stealing their costly items.

Hartman says he had numerous high-priced Jordan sneakers, audio equipment, and a game-worn LeBron James warm-up jacket and his Mizzou jerseys stolen. Hartman has an immune system disorder called X-L-A that granted him a Make-A-Wish opportunity.

In 2018, Hartman received his custom jersey through his Make-A-Wish wish opportunity. The jersey has Hartman on the back and the year he graduated high school.

Hartman also toured the Nike campus and had the chance to meet US Nike football uniform designer Todd Van Horn and former Nike CEO, Mark Parker during his opportunity.

Hartman said he wishes he had renters insurance to cover his items and this burglary showed him how important it is. He says, he's okay with not recovering any of his sneakers and audio equipment but he wants his jersey back.

"The shoes you can get back, you can get back over time and collect those over time. Really what I want to replace is the jersey. The jersey, its got my name on it. Like that is something that cannot be replaced" Said Hartman.

Hartman says he has filed a police report with the Columbia Police department but has had no luck finding his jersey yet. As of now, Hartman's uncle has set up a gofundme account to help raise money to buy new items.
