Teenager taken to the hospital in Columbia crash

ABC 17 News crews were on the scene of a crash in West Columbia, near the intersection of Stadium and Forum Blvd. Sunday morning.

The crash was partially blocking Forum, and the road was down to one lane in each direction.

Officials on scene tells our ABC 17 News crews two teenagers were involved in the single car crash. The driver told police another car struck the side of his vehicle, causing him to run off the road and hit a tree, which then fell on top his car.

The tree was in the parking lot of Schnuck’s grocery story.

The female passenger in the car was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The male driver refused medical attention.

The crash remains under investigation.
