Boone County prosecutors file substitute charge against former Osage County Sheriff
Boone County prosecutors downgraded a felony charge to a misdemeanor against a former Mid-Missouri sheriff this week.
The office filed the misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon charge against former Osage County Sheriff Michael Dixon.
Dixon is accused of pulling a loaded gun inside a bar south of Columbia.
He’s not officially charged with the misdemeanor yet. The judge will need to accept that charge first.
Dixon is due back in court December 6.
