Update: Jefferson City police identify homicide victim
UPDATE 11/3: CrimeStoppers has doubled the reward for information about the homicide of Terrance Davis, making it $1,000.
UPDATE 11/2: The Jefferson City Police Department confirmed that the victim of the homicide is Terrance Davis, 29, of Jefferson City.
ABC 17 News checked in with police on the status of the investigation Wednesday morning.
Captain Doug Shoemaker says right now officers are following up on leads. He says the department is really emphasizing people call them with any information they know about the shooting. He says Crimestoppers is offering a $500 dollar reward for information leading to an arrest.
UPDATE: The 29-year-old man shot twice in Jefferson city has died of his injuries, and the shooting has been ruled a homicide. We’ll continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
ORIGINAL STORY: Jefferson City Police were called to the 700 block of Michigan Street because of a shooting.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 29-year-old man suffering from two gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was stabilized, then transported to Columbia because of his severe injuries. He is in serious condition.
According to the person who called the police, a verbal dispute was heard in the area. After the dispute, two to three shots were fired. Detectives arrived on the scene and found casings. The suspect is still at large.
