Wednesday morning, October 26

TODAY: Clouds continue to encompass Mid-Missouri this morning bringing scattered showers and t-storms by 5AM to areas near HWY 65 to Brunswick, Marshall, and Sedalia. These look to move into Columbia between 8AM-10AM, ending in the early afternoon. Severe storms are not expected, while frequent lightning and small hail can’t be ruled out. Winds will be from the southwest today near 7-12 mph gusting to 20 mph in the afternoon. Depending on how much cloud cover there is today, a second round of storms looks possible from 5-10 PM as a cold front moves through. Rainfall amounts are expected to range from .10″ to 0.25″ near I-70 with areas farther north closer to .50″.

TONIGHT: Rain will taper off through 10PM near I-44, and clouds will erode from north of I-70 in the evening and south of I-70 overnight. Temperatures will fall to the upper 40s north, while areas along I-70 and south will see temperatures in the low 50s with a northwest wind under 6 mph.

EXTENDED: Skies will remain mostly sunny Thursday with highs in the upper 60s. We trend warm by Friday, feeling more like mid September as temperatures warm to 80! The upcoming weekend looks dry with plenty of sun and above average temperatures reaching the mid-upper 70s Saturday and near 70 Sunday. This trend will continue into Monday. It will be breezy for the start of the next work week with a southwest breeze with winds gusting to 20-22 mph during the day. For Halloween night temperatures look to be mild in the upper 60s for trick or treating under a partly cloudy sky. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
