UPDATE: Arrests made in Jefferson City shooting

Two women were arrested in connection to Saturday night’s shooting at a Jefferson City apartment complex that sent on man to the hospital.

Jefferson City Police responded to the 800 block of Monroe Street at the Heritage Apartments Saturday night for reports of a disturbance involving a gunshot victim.

Police said the man was shot in the stomach and taken to University Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The victim was able to give officers information about the women and the car they were driving.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol were able to locate and arrest Daeqwan Smith, 21, and Karmen Hines, 25, both of Iowa, in Schuyler County.

On October 13, Jefferson City police responded to the same block for a report of another shooting.

Police found multiple bullet shell casings but no victims.

Back in April, ABC 17 crews were also on scene when there was reports of another shooting.

Police not only found evidence of the shooting but two victims who were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
