Dixon teen killed in Maries County crash
A teenager was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash on Highway BB near County Road 636 Friday evening.
The Highway Patrol has identified Mikayla Sherrell, 16, as the passenger who was killed in the single car crash.
According to the crash report, Kelsie Shoemaker, 16, was driving westbound on Highway BB when she lost control of the car and hit a tree.
Shoemaker was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Troopers said both teens were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
