Sturgeon man arrested on suspicion of threatening ex-girlfriend with a gun

The Centralia Police Department arrested Randy McGrath, 18, Friday night for allegedly threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend earlier in the month.

According to a probable cause statement, McGrath put a gun to his ex-girlfriend’s stomach and threatened to kill her if she didn’t return some of his belongings. The woman claims McGratch had also been sending threatening text messages.

Court documents claim McGrath admitted to sending the threatening messages and threatening the woman with a gun on Oct. 13.

McGrath is facing charges of first degree domestic assault and armed criminal action. He is currently being held in the Boone County jail on a $50,000 bond.
