What’s Going Around: More flu cases

More flu cases are popping up in mid-Missouri. Doctor Tara Flynn from Mizzou Quick Cares and Urgent Care says there have been 4 patients to come in with the flu. All 4 were flu B cases. Doctor Flynn says 3 patients had the typical fever and aches, along with upper respiratory issues. The other patient had vomiting and stomach issues with the flu. The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services reported 2 flu cases in the month of September. Doctor Flynn also says she has seen an uptick in pneumonia, bronchitis and strep. Doctor Eric Bettis from Broadway Urgent Care says cases of bronchitis are also filling up his office. He says allergies continue to affect patients as well. Doctor Bettis says some people have come in with a fever and vomiting.
