Tuesday Morning, October 18

TODAY: We’ll start off the day with temperatures in the upper 60s for the morning commute. It will feel slightly muggy before a weak cold front moves through by 9AM, and a northwest wind ushers drier conditions by the lunch hour. A few sprinkles will be possible with the passing of the front, but generally we’ll be dry with passing clouds this morning. Plenty of sun for the afternoon will help temperatures reach 80, staying 10-15 degrees above the normal high.

TONIGHT: It looks to stay mainly clear north of the Missouri River overnight with temperatures falling to the mid 50s and a northerly wind under 5 mph. Areas closer to I-44 will see a partly cloudy sky with temperatures in the upper 50s.

EXTENDED: It will feel more like fall again on Wednesday with rain chances returning mainly after 8AM south of I-70. There is a Marginal Risk for severe weather on Wednesday for large hail and strong wind gusts of 60 mph. Rainfall amounts looks meager along I-70 near .01″ to. 10″. Areas closer to I-44 could see upwards of 0.50″ to 0.75″ with locally higher amounts in eastern Missouri where 1″ is possible closer to the St. Louis area. Rain will move out by 7PM-9PM over I-44, perhaps with a few lingering showers overnight into Thursday morning. Thursday afternoon will be cool with highs in the mid 60s under mostly sunny skies.
