Donors behind $2M check to Missouri’s Greitens still secret

According to the Associated Press, an obscure political action committee that gave nearly $2 million to Missouri’s Republican gubernatorial candidate, Eric Greitens, remains in secrecy after a recent Federal Election Commission report revealed minimal information about its only donor.

The report filed Friday shows that super PAC SEALs for Truth is funded by American Policy Coalition, Inc., another obscure group.

Over $1.9 million that has been contributed to Greitens’ campaign in July, which broke records at the time as the biggest single donation in Missouri history before being topped by multimillion-dollar checks to the GOP candidate from the Republican Governors Association. The group gave Greitens $2.5 million on Monday. Last week, they cut two checks for $4 million and $1 million to support Greitens’ campaign.

When speaking with the Missouri Farm Bureau members in August, Greitens responded to a member question about the donation by describing the committee as an example of “SEALs around this country who have stepped forward to support me.”
