Monday Evening, Oct 17

TONIGHT: Winds will subside slightly through the evening hours, as they remain out of the south under 15 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph are still possible. After record breaking heat today temperatures will only cool to near 70 tonight, with increasing clouds ahead of a cold front that will move through by Tuesday afternoon.

TUESDAY: We begin the fall back to cooler conditions on Tuesday as a cold front begins to move through the area. Environmental conditions aren’t supporting much in terms of rainfall for tomorrow, so it will be a generally dry cold front with only sprinkles reaching the ground by the afternoon. Temperatures will still remain warmer than normal but cooler compared to last weekend with temperature highs in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: Temperatures will continue to fall throughout the week with temperature highs by mid week in the low 70s with cool conditions overnight in the 40s. Rain chances slightly increase on Wednesday and Thursday but are limited to areas south of Hwy 50. The rain should move out by Friday and lead to a much cooler weekend perfect for Mizzou’s homecoming. For more weather updates follow ABC 17 Stormtrack on Facebook and Twitter.
