Sunday Evening, Oct. 16
TONIGHT: After a historically warm day for Columbia we will only cool to a low near 70 under partly cloudy skies. The mild night with mostly clear sky conditions should make for another good night to view the full moon. Winds will be blustery overnight ahead of a very windy Monday with winds from the south 10-13 mph with gusts upwards to 20 mph.
MONDAY: Temperatures will continue to rise for Monday. Highs are expected to reach near the record high of 89 due to clearing skies after a partly cloudy morning and winds from the south pumping in warm air. These winds will actually kick up to 14-17 mph during the day and we could see gusts above 30 mph so be sure to secure anything that might blow away.
EXTENDED: We begin the fall back to cooler conditions on Tuesday as a cold front begins to move through the area. Temperature highs by the mid week will be in the low 70s with cool conditions overnight in the 40s. Currently it is looking like this cold frontal passage will be a dry one with rain chances limited to areas along I-44 on Wednesday night and Thursday. The rain should move out by Friday and lead to a much cooler weekend. For more weather updates follow ABC 17 Stormtrack on Facebook and Twitter.
