TRAFFIC ALERT: Two Boone County construction projects begin Sunday

Two different construction projects in Boone County could cause delays for drivers this week.

First, MoDOT says routine bridge maintenance on I-70 will result in a couple lane closures.

Starting at 7 p.m. Sunday, crews are closing westbound I-70 over Cedar Creek, just east of the Boone-Callaway County Line. The work is scheduled to be completed by 5 a.m. Monday.

Then, on Monday night, MoDOT says crews will close I-70 eastbound over the Missouri River–just west of the Boone-Cooper County Line. That work is set to wrap up by 5 a.m. Wednesday.

The other construction project is happening in Ashland, where crews will be making some changes to a roundabout.

Crews will be doing pavement repairs on the Route Y/63 roundabout, which will also be converted into a three-way stop.

The work begins at 10 a.m. Sunday and is expected to be completed before rush hour on Monday, Oct. 24. MoDOT says during this time, the northbound on-ramp to Route 63 will be closed. Motorists can access Route 63 north by traveling south to the Route 63 j-turn.
