TODAY: The rain is coming to an end for areas north of the Hwy 50 corridor, as a cold front tracks through the area. The high temperature for the day has already been achieved and we’ll see falling temperatures through the remainder of the day into the evening. Areas along the I-44 corridor will see showers with embedded storms through the evening hours, as the cold front tracks closer to southeast Missouri. Showers look to end through 8PM-10PM near I-44. There is a marginal severe risk in the afternoon and early evening mainly south of I-70 for possible strong wind gusts or 1″ hail. Rainfall amounts of .25″ to .75″ are likely with local amounts up to 1″ possible.

TONIGHT: Clouds will be clearing quicker to areas north of I-70 by 6PM-8PM and for areas south through 10PM. Some of the coolest temperatures so far this season move in tonight as temperatures drop to the upper 30s north of I-70. Where the air is more stagnant in low areas, frost may be possible early Thursday as temperatures could dip to freezing in spots.

EXTENDED: Thursday look like a perfect fall day with mostly sunny skies and cool with high temperatures only touching near 60 with a light northerly breeze. Another chance of showers moves in Thursday night mainly after 3AM through noon on Friday for areas south of I-70 with high temperatures reaching the lower 60s Friday.
