Thieves hit four cars during string of break-ins

ABC 17 News has details from a string of car break-ins reported in just one day in central Columbia. All of the reports happened within two miles of each other on Monday, between 6 and 8:30 in the morning.

Police say thieves smashed windows, grabbing wallets and valuables from vehicles in neighborhoods north of I-70.

Officers tell ABC 17 News they were called to the 900 block of Texas Avenue at 6:24 a.m., the 1600 block of Doris Drive at 6:26 a.m., the 200 block of Phyllis Avenue at 6:35 a.m. and the 1700 block of Bettina Drive at 8:07 a.m.
