Police called to Douglass Park in central Columbia

ABC 17 News has confirmed police were called to Douglass Park in central Columbia Monday evening, where a 50 year-old man was assaulted.

ABC 17 News had a photographer at the scene as he was loaded onto a stretcher and put in the back of an ambulance around 6:30 p.m., after officers were called to the disturbance.

On Tuesday, officials could only confirm the victim and witnesses were not cooperating, and he was not seriously hurt in the assault.
