Crash on the Business Loop sends motorcycle driver to hospital with serious injuries
The Columbia Fire and Police Department were called to a crash involving a motorcycle in the 700 block of Business Loop 70 East Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened around 3:20 p.m.
Police said Amy McGoveran, 35, was driving eastbound on the Business Loop and turned left into O’Reilly Auto Parts in front of the motorcyclist.
The driver of the motorcycle, Robert Lynn, 62, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries to his leg. According to the police crash report, Lynn was wearing a helmet.
McGovern was not hurt in the crash.
The westbound lane of Business Loop near 7th Street was shut down while crews worked to clear the scene. It was reopened just after 4 p.m.
