Hermine Makes Landfall

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Englewood to Indian Pass, Flagler/Volusia County line to Duck, and Pamlico and Albermarle Sounds.

A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for North of Duck to Sandy Hook, Chesapeake Bay from Smith Point southward, and Southern Delaware Bay.

Early this morning at 12:30AM, Hermine made landfall as at Cat 1. Hermine has been weakening and has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm with sustained winds of 70 mph.

Strong winds along the Gulf coast of Florida should gradually diminish today.

Hermine is expected to produce rainfall accumulations of 5-10 inches over northwest Florida through southern and eastern Georgia into South Carolina and North Carolina with possible max amounts near 15 inches.

A Tornado Watch is in effect for much of Florida and southern Georgia. A few tornadoes are possible this morning across northern Florida and southern Georgia. The tornado risk will spread across the eastern Carolinas later today.
