Man charged for Fulton schools shutdown

A man has been charged in Callaway County after being accused of making terrorist threats that shut down Fulton area schools Monday.

Courtney Cornelius Reid was arrested Wednesday in Jefferson City after allegedly making several phone calls to Fulton Middle School.

The school’s secretary told police that three of the phone calls involved threats, and that the caller mentioned he was trying to stop another person from bringing a gun to the school.

The phone calls led Fulton Public Schools and other private schools to place their facilities on lockdown for about five hours.

Reid is being held in Callaway County and is charged with making a terrorist threat.
