Public hearing to rezone area for homes draws opposition

The Boone County Commission held a public hearing Tuesday night to discuss rezoning more than 40 acres of property into single family homes.

The public hearing was at the request of Green Thumb Properties, LLC for Nursery Heights Development Group, LLC to rezone parts of South Nursery Road in Columbia.

Some residents in the neighboring area spoke against the development, raising concerns about the potential traffic it could bring.
