Warm, humid weekend with possible storms

A warm front moved north Friday night, putting Mid-Missouri in a warm, humid air mass through the weekend. Southerly winds will send moisture from the Gulf of Mexico northward as embedded impulses aloft move through occasionally. This will set the stage for spotty afternoon and evening storms both Saturday and Sunday.

Dew points will stay in the lower 70s this weekend, making the air feel sticky as temperatures climb into the mid to upper 80s under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Nights will stay warm and muggy with lows near 70 due to the humidity.

There is a low chance of isolated severe storms Saturday afternoon mainly north of I-70 where wind shear is slightly higher. Overall, most storms this weekend will not be severe but we will watch for any which develop later in the day Saturday for possible strong wind gusts. Heavy rain is more likely with stronger storms due to the tropical nature of the air moving in.
