Columbia police investigating assault on Queen Ann Drive

Columbia Police were called to the 1000 block of Queen Ann Drive around 9 p.m. Friday for a disturbance at an apartment.

Police said the male victim was assaulted with an object by two people inside the apartment. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officers said the victim knew the male and female suspects. A sergeant on scene tells ABC 17 News it appears the suspects may have tried to steal the victim’s truck. He said they ditched the car on Queen Ann Drive not far from the apartment and took off in their own car.

The victim told police the two were likely headed toward Jefferson City.

The sergeant said the suspects are likely facing assault and theft charges.
