Risk for Strong Storms Friday Night

A line of organized storms looks possible for areas mainly west of US 63 this evening after 7PM. Due to an ample amount of wind shear north of I-70 tonight and mainly west of US 63, parts of the state have been upgraded to a Slight Risk. Here are the probabilities. The narrow window for organized storms mainly near HWY 65 and north of the Missouri River is 7PM-11PM. It looks like storms will likely fall apart overnight. There is a 2% probability for a tornado for areas shaded in green, and a 15% probability for damaging winds of 60 mph or greater and damaging hail for the areas shaded in yellow. You’ll notice much of the area is shaded in brown for a 5% probability for damaging winds and large hail.

There will be slight chance for isolated t-storms east of HWY 54 from 8PM-10PM closer to Owensville and Hermann. The main threat of storms east of HWY 54 looks to be heavy rain and lightning. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
