Motion filed to revoke probation for Ryan Gevelinger

Howard County prosecutor Stephen Murrell filed a motion Monday to revoke probation for a self-proclaimed priest and convicted felon.

Ryan Gevelinger pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm in December. He was put on probation and sentenced to a seven-year prison term if he were to violate his probation.

The motion claims Gevelinger violated probation after moving to Columbia. Gevelinger is accused of not notifying his probation officer or seeking permission to change his residence.

Gevelinger was also once accused of scamming an elderly woman. The Howard County Sheriff’s Office believed Gevelinger had convinced the woman to pay $30,000 for a monastery in Armstrong, a small town northwest of Fayette. Those charges have since been dropped.
