JCPD authorities investigating “suspicious death” as a homicide
UPDATE: Jefferson City Police is now investigating this death as a homicide.
Detectives with the Jefferson City Police Department are asking for the public help in finding the suspect, or suspects responsible for the murder of William “Bill” Crawford, 50, who was killed at his home around 8:53p.m. Friday evening, and 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
Detectives say Crawford was killed by a gunshot wound.
According to Police, Crawford was last seen on video leaving Schulte’s on Friday evening, and was not seen since.
Jefferson City Police Department believe the suspect(s) could be considered armed and dangerous.
ORIGINAL: Jefferson City police are investigating a “suspicious death” and detectives have not ruled out the possibility of a homicide.
Police were called to the 1900 block of Stadium Boulevard just after 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
Police say the caller, who is related to the victim, went to the victim’s residence and found him unresponsive. The victim, who is a-50 year-old Jefferson City male, appeared to have blood on him and was unconscious. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
JCPD detectives were then called to the scene. They are investigating the death as suspicious and say they are not ruling out a homicide.
An initial investigation indicated the victim suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
After canvassing the area, detectives determined the last time the victim was seen was at his residence on Stadium on Friday at 5:30 p.m. by a neighbor.
The victim’s name has not yet been released.
