Two gas leaks close road for hours in south Columbia

UPDATE, 8:32 p.m.: Sinclair road is now back open.

UPDATE, 7:35 p.m.: Crews are still on the scene at Sinclair Road after two gas leaks Tuesday.

Fire officials said a crew hit a line around 4:00 p.m. Ameren told ABC 17 repairs have been made for that leak and the home involved was abandoned.

While responding to that leak, crews noticed a leak at a nearby line and are currently responding to the situation.

ORIGINAL STORY, 4:50 p.m.: A gas leak has closed Sinclair Road near Cascades Drive in south Columbia.

Boone County Joint Communications says Ameren UE has crews on the scene working to fix the leak right now.

It’s not clear yet what caused the leak, or if it’s affecting service to any homes.
