Police arrest boyfriend of woman reported missing in Jefferson City

A Jefferson City man has been arrested in connection with an incident which prompted police to put out an endangered person advisory on Tuesday.

In the advisory, police said Kelley Clark was reported missing by a family member who claimed to hear Clark being assaulted over the phone. At the time of the phone call, Clark was with her boyfriend, Jimmie Johnson.

Police later found Clark’s vehicle on East Ashley Street, and discovered blood inside, but neither Johnson nor Clark were there.

Later in the evening, Clark’s mother told police her daughter and Johnson were at a home on Jefferson Street. Johnson was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault and felonious restraint.

Officers say Clark had injuries on her face which were consistent with assault cases. Clark, however, refused to speak to police at the scene and wouldn’t go with officers to the department for an interview.
