Court documents reveal new details about two Columbia shootings
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Boone County Prosecutor's Office has charged two men after a shooting in Columbia late last month.
Miles W. Lambert, 18, of Columbia, and Marcus W. Rhea, 20, of Columbia, were both charged on Wednesday with felony counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
An additional felony charge of stealing a firearm was filed on Friday against Lambert.
The Columbia Police Department responded to the shooting on Oct. 31 around 6:50 p.m. at the Ash Place Apartments in the 100 block of North Stadium Boulevard.
According to court documents obtained by ABC 17 News, police found 12 shell casings, but no one was hurt. At least one vehicle was damaged by the gunfire.
Police said a person who saw the shooting and surveillance footage from a nearby Walmart helped officers identify the men.
A SnapChat post made by Lambert also showed him wearing the same clothes as the person who was seen in the video Walmart gave police, according to the probable cause statement.
Rhea is also accused of having a handgun at a different shooting on Saturday, Nov. 6, that matched the caliber of the gun used in the shooting outside of the apartment complex. According to court documents, the Nov. 6 shooting happened at a crowded nightclub.
Lambert is also considered a person of interest in the shooting at the nightclub.
Police said officers found a stolen handgun on Wednesday during a search of a home off of East Brown School Road. According to court documents, the gun was found in a bedroom with Lambert's Missouri identification card and other belongings.
Police said it appeared someone tried to hide the gun's serial number.
Arraignment hearings are scheduled for Friday afternoon for Lambert and Rhea.
