Tracking a cold front and some cooler air behind it

TONIGHT: A gray and warm day, Wednesday will come to a rainy end. Scattered showers may develop as soon as early afternoon before more widespread showers and storms move in along an approaching cold front late tonight. To our west, storms along the front are expected to become strong to severe, but diminish in intensity as they loose energy approaching mid-Missouri. Folks towards Kansas City will need to be weather aware, but at this time we do not expect severe weather locally. Showers and a few rumbles of thunder will stick with us overnight, and largely be gone by sunrise Thursday.

THURSDAY: Veteran's Day will bring a stop to the rain and a return to sunshine. It will have to fight a stout west wind that will try to usher in cooler weather. Overall, expect mostly clear skies with high's in the mid 50's.

EXTENDED: Lows will get into the 30’s Thursday night and we’ll only recover into the 40’s Friday with that wind sticking around. That’s about where we see things get over the weekend as well. A fast-moving disturbance will slide through Saturday night. This will bring a shot at some rain mixing in a few wet snowflakes at times. The best chance to see anything wintry flying will be north of I-70 but no impacts are expected. However, because it is fall, it's only fitting that another warmup looks possible early next week, with a return to the 60’s as early as next Tuesday.
