Sedalia police identify girl killed after being hit by SUV

SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Sedalia Police Department has identified a girl killed after an SUV hit her on Monday afternoon.

Police said Ella M. Kindle, 11, of Sedalia, died from her injuries after she was hit by the vehicle around 3:10 p.m. near the intersection of North Engineer Avenue and Saline Street.

According to the police department, the driver of the SUV was traveling southbound on Engineer when Kindle tried to cross the road.

Police said the driver tried to stop the SUV before hitting the girl. The driver of the SUV wasn't hurt in the crash.

Police said that person is working with officers.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Major Crash Team is also helping police investigate the deadly crash.

Anyone who saw the crash or has information is asked to call the Sedalia Police Department.
