Cole County safety officials prepare for Salute to America

Safety officials in Jefferson City are preparing for Salute to America, the largest event of the year.

Cole County and Jefferson City emergency management director Bill Farr says the event’s safety committee has been reviewing the incident action plan since March.

Jefferson City police, Cole County Sheriff’s deputies, Missouri Capitol police, Jefferson City fire crews and EMS will have presence at the three-day event.

Farr says a mobile dispatch center will be set up to coordinate the different agencies at Salute to America.
