Flooding causes traffic problems on Highway 54 in Callaway County

Parts of Highway 54 East in Holts Summit were shut down for a brief period of time Sunday afternoon after heavy rains flooded the roadways.

The flooding happened near the Center Street exit.

MODOT crews were on scene to assess and fix the damage.

The Highway Patrol and Holts Summit Police Department were on scene directing traffic while crews worked.

Crews were able to clear the flooding and the highway was back open around 5:30 p.m.
