One person shot, hospitalized after early morning shooting

Columbia Police are investigating an early morning shooting on Hirth Avenue between West Worley and Donnelly Avenue. Police started getting calls around 12:06 a.m. about the shooting.

The Columbia Police Department confirms a 27 year-old man was shot in the leg and was taken to the hospital. He was reported as stable.

CPD says they don’t have the details on how the shooting started but say multiple people called in about the gunshots. The victim also called in saying he was hit.

Police had put out multiple markers on the street to mark the shell casings they found. Police also say they found two different types of shell casings.

CSI was on scene processing the area. Detectives spoke with the victim at the hospital.

Columbia Police tell ABC 17 News they do not have a suspect in custody and they do not have a description.
