Report: Connor Bazelak out for Georgia game

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou quarterback Connor Bazelak will not play on Saturday at No. 1 Georgia, according to a report from Yahoo Sports writer Pete Thamel.

Thamel added both backup QB's Tyler Macon and Brady Cook are expected to play against the Bulldogs.

We've reached out to Mizzou to confirm the report, but we have not heard back yet.

Bazelak was diagnosed with a "soft-tissue injury" following the Vanderbilt game last week. He left the game in the fourth quarter after getting sacked.

Head coach Eli Drinkwitz elected to go with Tyler Macon in Bazelak's place against the Commodores. However, he said that was a situational decision because MU was looking to run the ball more at the end of the game.

Drinkwitz dodged every question regarding the QB competition at his media availability on Tuesday. He said he would know more after watching a week of practice.

The Tigers and Bulldogs will kickoff from Sanford Stadium on Saturday at 11 a.m.
