Emergency crews on scene of crash on Highway 63 after car runs off road

Emergency crews responded to a crash south of Ashland Thursday.

It happened around 6:45 Thursday morning on Highway 63 north, about a mile south of Ashland.

Officials on scene told our ABC 17 News crew that the car ran about 100 feet off the roadway down an embankment. They say the male driver was taken to the hospital for observation. The driver apparently does not remember the crash.

Public dispatch notes indicate at least six units responded to the scene.

The crash does not appear to be impacting traffic. Authorities on scene say it will take be awhile before crews are able to tow the vehicle out of the embankment. They say the vehicle sustained a lot of front end damage.

ABC 17 News has a crew on the scene. We’ll have a live report on ABC 17 News at 9:00am.
