Power outage forces officials to close Jefferson City hall for remainder of Wednesday

Jefferson City Hall will remain closed for the rest of the afternoon after losing power Wednesday morning.

Jefferson City Administrator Steve Crowell tells ABC 17 News the Christy Municipal Building closed around 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Crowell says power was out at the building from 10 until 3:00 pm due to a transformer issue.

Ameren crews were able to restore power, however Crowell says City Hall will remain closed for the rest of Wednesday.

The building is scheduled to reopen at 8:00 am Thursday.
